MIR Meets: Hugh Kinsella Cunningham

Host Sabrina Nelson sits down with Hugh Kinsella Cunningham, an award-winning photojournalist and Pulitzer Center grantee, to discuss his work documenting health, conflict, and society in the Democratic Republic of Congo. They delve into his recent award-winning projects, his experiences on the ground, and his perspective on the current challenges facing the region.

Hugh Kinsella Cunningham (b.1994, London) is a photographer working on critical flashpoints of health, society and conflict. Hugh’s work has been awarded the Amnesty International Media Award for Photojournalism 2024, the Red Cross Humanitarian Visa d’Or 2024, and 1st prize for documentary projects in the 2023 Sony World Photography Awards. Based in the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo and a multiple grantee of the Pulitzer Centre on Crisis Reporting, he also contributes work to organisations such as the World Health Organisation, ICRC, Premiere Urgence, Save the Children, Medecins Sans Frontieres and the UNHCR.
